Two pollutant gravel, sand, asphalt mines shut down in Pakdasht

TEHRAN — Two pollutant sand, gravel and asphalt mines have been closed in Pakdasht, southeast of Tehran, an official in the Department of Environment said on Saturday.

Following the implementation of the monitoring plan for gravel, sand, and asphalt mines, a team comprising of environmental experts inspected 11 mines in Pakdasht, Mehr quoted Mohammad Rastegari as saying.

“The monitoring plan will be seriously carried out,” Rastegari added.

In addition, the two units will be reported to the Tax Affairs Organization as pollutant industries and are bound to pay pollution taxes, the official stressed.
